Assure your interviewer that you’re making a long-term commitment; that this job is what you were looking to do and that it’s what you do very well. Also convince him/her that you believe that if you do the job at hand well, future opportunities will take care of themselves.
Example:
“I have decided that I am looking to make a long-term commitment to my next job. From what I understand is desirable for this position, it’s exactly what I need and more than qualified to do. With regards to my future career plans and path, I am sure that I will excel at everything that I do and opportunities will open up for me here. It’s something I have had happen in the past and I am positive that history will repeat itself.”
